WHO WE ARE- iSEA

iSea is an Environmental Organisation founded in 2016 in Thessaloniki, Greece, with the vision of a healthy Mediterranean Sea supporting sustainable development and resilience of local coastal communities. 

Its team consists of young, but experienced, people from multidisciplinary backgrounds that share their passion for environmental protection and enthusiastically work based on the common values of collaboration, transparency, scientificity and equity.

"Working together with local communities to preserve and restore the Mediterranean Sea", iSea aims to promote science-based measures and sound policies for the protection of the environment,

protect the aquatic ecosystems through raising awareness on current environmental problems and promote good practices to address them and elaborate and promote scientific research, as the basis for sustainable development and resilience with the aim of environmental, social, and economic prosperity of the local communities. 

Through scientific research, advocacy, awareness raising, Citizen Science and innovation it implements actions in 4 pillars:

• Vulnerable species.
• Aquatic litter;
• Human and aquatic ecosystems;
• Marine Protected Areas;
